Resources for Vermonters on everything from healthcare to housing

Dear friend,
Could Vermont support you and your family better?
The cost of living has shot up. Could you qualify for subsidies on groceries or health insurance? Programs like this are worth checking out—see below.
Among the list of programs below are some newer ones being funded by federal money. Please check them out. There may be something on the list that could help you renovate your house to save energy. Have you considered adding an ADU (accessory dwelling unit) to make some extra income and help other Vermonters with their housing needs? There's funding for that.
In particular, please check out the "Missing Middle" homeownership program, and spread the word on it if you can think of someone that this might be a fit for.
A new Vermont law took effect on June 7th with $15 million in funding for subsidies and incentives for home builders to construct or rehabilitate modest homes affordable to Vermont homebuyers at 120% Area Median Income or lower. The Missing Middle-Income Development Program is now open for applications.
Halifax, Whitingham, and Wilmington residents take note. A lot of government funding for housing goes to denser towns and cities. We're at a disadvantage when it comes to those dollars. I don't love the name but having reviewed the details I think it has more promise to be used around here. Check it out!
