"Nickel Boys" at the Latchis Theatre - April 16

2025-04-08

Dear reader,

Hi everyone! How goes?

Life is full here. After testifying in the Senate last week, I'm planning a Brattleboro movie premiere for next week.

This is a first for me. I'm happy to share that next Wednesday, April 16, Quill Nook Farm and the Latchis Theatre will present a special one-night-only showing of “Nickel Boys.”

The film will show for one night only in the main theatre. Doors at 6 p.m., film at 6:30 p.m. The film’s co-star, Brandon Wilson, will offer a Q&A after the showing, facilitated by me.

Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Colson Whitehead, "Nickel Boys" chronicles the powerful friendship between two young African-American men navigating the harrowing trials of reform school together in Florida.

Nominated for two Oscars including Best Picture and Best Screenplay, Brandon Wilson was the 2024 Winner of the Gotham Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Performer. Wilson is currently on his first visit to Vermont.

Tickets are $20 suggested donation to benefit the Codonopsis Fund here at Quill Nook Farm, available at the door.

I hope you will come!

No need to RSVP. See you at the Latchis next Wednesday at 6:30 for the film. Arrive early to get your seat, mingle, and sample the flavors of Quill Nook Farm. Stick around for the Q&A, when we'll share on-stage about the film and how we came to offer this special showing. See you there!

heck yeah,

P.S. I know a lot of y'all don't live in Vermont --- too bad! Here's a little hey from Seamus in the shipping department on your way out the door. Have a great day.
